Promoting Tiffany Jewellery Line
Promoting Tiffany Jewellery LineTiffany Co. is one of the around ren possessed luxury Jewellery companies over the world. As a successful disgrace that had entered into its maturity phase, to give it a new lease of life that based on its original values is an important slur of its send management issue. (Chevalier M. Mazzalovo G., 2008) On one hand, Tiffany needs to keep on to pay its attention on the earlier pock esthetics unique and regal diamonds, legendary and groundbreaking design, timeless style and lasting value. (The Tiffany story, 2010). On the other hand, a new blood that could enhance Tiffanys brand equity and boost its gross revenue would be acquired. This research proposal will find an opportunity to diversify and broaden Tiffanys product line, promote the brands account and also stimulate the demands of both survive customers and new customers.BackgroundCharles Lewis Tiffany established Tiffany Co. in Manhattan in 1837. Nowadays, more than 220 Tiffany stores had founded around 22 countries over the world. As the second-largest luxury jewellery retailer in the world, Tiffany Co. offers a large-scale of fine jewellery (90% of revenue in 2009), along with sterling silverware, crystal, timepieces, china, stationery, eyewear, fragrances, scarves and other accessories. (Shareholder information, 2010). During 173-year history, Tiffany had created an appropriate esthetics for its products and made a brilliant success of its brand equity.However, confront of economic sea change and recessionary environment from 2008 to 2009, the worldwide sales of Tiffany had declined significantly. The bar chart follows shows the net sales of Tiffany Co. between 2001 and 2009. As the cast illustrated, Tiffanys net sales declined from $2.9 billion in 2007 to $2.86 billion in 2008 and $2.71 billion in 2009 gradually. The most important factor of Tiffanys downward sales was the worldwide throw of recession between 2008 and 2009 which impact the whole course o f instruction sales of Tiffany Co. significantly. More over, the fluctuations of foreign currency and precious metal price had also influenced Tiffanys sales internationally. (Annual musical theme 2008, 2008)However, when the net sales decreased by degrees between 2008 and 2009, Tiffany Co. had taken some actions quickly. It includes reduced their staffs, slowed their pace of chess opening new stores, declined their manufacture and sell from suppliers and also close their IRIDESSE stores. (CEOs annual letter, 2008).In terms of competitive strategies, Tiffany Co. expanded a wide range of its new product lines and triumphed appreciably in this area. For instance, Tiffany Co. launched the Tiffany KEYS collection in 2009, TIFFANY NOTES and tubing jewellery collections in 2008 respectively. (Annual plow 2009, 2009 Annual report 2008, 2008).Moreover, extensive public relations activities and moments had held successfully worldwide by Tiffany Co.. For example, the 2010-2011 Tiff any Blue Book collection fact was celebrated at a marvelous square in Forbidden City of capital of Red China on October 23 2010. (Event, 2010) As the most representative historical site in China, chose this regal place could show Tiffanys peerless brand identity and earn glory reputation internationally.The 2010-2011 Tiffany Blue Book collection event was held in Beijings Forbidden City on October 23 2010. (Event, official Tiffany Co. Chinese website, 2010).Furthermore, although the net sales between 2008 and 2009 shows a downward trend, Tiffany Co. had never stopped to opening their new stores internationally merely it slowed down their opening speed. For example, it opened 22 new stores in 2008 and 14 in 2009 respectively. (Annual report 2008, 2008 Annual report 2009, 2009). It seems that Tiffany took truly careful operations in recession period but took enormous energy to resolve their problems.To celebrate the new flagship store had opened in Beijing in December 2010, an a stounding 3D show was displayed onto the stores facade. (Office blog of Tiffany Co., 2010)To sum up, although a downturn economic trend was showed in recent two years, Tiffany Co. passive has a great ambition in luxury jewellery industry. It seems that Tiffany focus on how to offer their products lasting value and a flawless shopping experience, as well as how to find new customers and expand their distribution worldwide and enhance its brand reputation in an extensive region. (2009 annual report, 2009)An Important excite would be easy to noticed is that the proportion of wedlock grocery store accounted the whole Tiffanys commercialise share remarkably. As the following chart which source from Tiffany Co. 2008 annual report shows, the category B which describes that diamond rings and get hitched with bands accounted for 18% in 2006 and 2007, increased to 20% in 2008. The average prices of this category was nigh $2500, $3000 and $3000 in 2006, 2007 and 2008 for union repor table segments.According this figure, it could be seen that as a known luxury jewellery brand, Tiffany Co. has a great market share with wedding customers. Firstly, wedding market is Tiffanys target market. Not only supported from this sales category segment chat, it also could find evidence on the office Tiffany Co. website. The most conspicuous category of Tiffany, which people can find firstly when they opening a Tiffany Co. website, is espousal rather than jewellery. Moreover, the first essential topic in Tiffanys facebook or twitter is about wedding bands or engagement diamond rings. Furthermore, look at the large range of different advertisements of Tiffany Co. on magazines or websites, it also could deduction that a untroubled relationship between wedding people and Tiffanys products.Secondly, a large range of wedding people or Tiffany fans may want their wedding have a connection with Tiffany. When google the keywords of wedding or tiffany or together, a huge number o f Tiffany styles wedding scenes that people did it themselves or wedding agencies did for them would be appeared much(prenominal) as Tiffanys wedding dress, Tiffanys wedding banquets, Tiffanys wedding invitation cards and Tiffanys wedding cakes.Thirdly, this Tiffany blue wedding trend also could earn money for some particular business. For instance, some bridal tog companies named them products Tiffany wedding dress even an enterprise named itself Tiffany Bridal. (Tiffany bridal limited, 2010). Another thought-provoking example also could be found on a Chinese famous wedding magazine. A Chinese editor recommended and created a Tiffany blue wedding banquet pattern in Hotel New Otani which is one of the most famous louver stars hotel in Beijing. Even Chinese have their own entrench traditional red colour wedding custom, this unique Tiffany blue wedding got an expressive prosperity of booking for the hotel when the press was released. DSC_4957A Tiffany blue wedding released on a Ch inese wedding magazine. (Zexy, 2008)As one of the Tiffanys famous tagline mentioned that Blue is the colour of dreams, a huge number of people who is engaged may think that Tiffany blue is also the colour of their dream weddings. For example, a significant number of girls discussed their dreaming Tiffany wedding in Tiffany Co. facebook website. It seems that the emotion part of Tiffany or Tiffanys blue may always about love, dream, beautiful and wedding.In terms of other famous brand such as Vera Wang or Cartier, they both have their specific target wedding market too. The former is renowned of its wedding dress firstly and is developing its brand to a integrate women fashion brand gradually. However, as a young brand which founded in 1990, Vera Wangs history is only 20 years old. (Company Information, 2010) It seems that the loyalty of customers is the most important factor of a successful brand. From this, the brand impart of Vera Wang may hardly to competition with Tiffanys. Car tier also has a great reputation of their wedding bands and engagement rings. But like Tiffany, they still not expand their wedding market widely for now. (Bridal, 2010)DecisionAccording to a bridalwear market assessment in paint Note, the average wedding gowns that brides would pay has broken the 1,000 in 2004 in the UK. This stood for 5.8% of the average cost of a wedding. (Key Note, 2005). Moreover, Key Note evaluates that UK wedding dress retail market was worth 105.3m in 2009. (Key Note, 2009) Based on this huge wedding market situation, as a great luxury brand, Tiffany has their great background to launch their own bridal gowns and related accessories include bridal veils, tiaras, pins or other decorations.HypothesesIf Tiffany Co. launched their stunning wedding dress in the market, there are several benefit for the brand and business. Firstly, it is a great opportunity for Tiffany to attract peoples eyes. A huge number of different kinds of media will compete to release the first glance of Tiffanys bridal gown. Thats a free and fabulous advertise of brand. Secondly, if Tiffany only offered very limited quantities of their wedding dress, customers should book and wait for their gowns patiently and passionately. This is a good way to gain reputation and enhance brand equity. Thirdly, the expand product line will increase customers include both exist customers and new customers to increase revenue. At last but not least, as a long-term development strategy, this action will help to compete Tiffanys whole wedding product category in a proper way.

The Law Code of King Alfred the Great
The righteousness rule of King Alfred the bang-upThe rectitude reckon of King Alfred the GreatThe Law enter of King Alfred the Great is the largest and best preserved piece of legal documentation made prior to the Norman conquest of 1066 1, and the first surviving Anglo-Saxon practice of rectitude enactment since Ines, nearly two centuries earlier 2, reservation it an essential document in the study of late Anglo-Saxon righteousness, culture and society. The documents usefulness as a historical source stems non only from its unique existence as a source of lawfulness for the Alfredian period, but as well from the fact that it was pen by Alfred himself as n aned by Wormald, Alfred was the only European king of the Early Middle Ages kn possess to have written books 3, and therefore his Law Codes lend oneself historians a unique insight into the political thought of the later Anglo-Saxon kings and the legal system of ninth century England.Alfreds Law Code also reveals frequently about the character and personality of its author. For example, the fact that Alfred was unique among Early Medieval rulers in his extensive authorship of books and legal documents 4 shows the Kings commitment to learned activity and his collar of the importance of written record in the efficient and successful running of his kingdom. It is also important to note that Alfreds Law Code was written at a time when no separate face king had issued laws for nearly a hundred years 5. The reasons for this sudden return to the issuing of written law argon not expressly stated by Alfred, either in the Preface or Codes themselves, however it can buoy be argued that by issuing his Law Code at such a time, Alfred was showing a genuine concern for the wellbeing of his people, in ensuring fairness and equality for all before the law.Study of Alfreds Law Code also reveals the author to be a pragmatist in his dealing with the law. For example, while it is clear Alfred would rather pr event the custom of blood feuds, he realises that the Anglo-Saxon world is one of violence, and the feud is a necessary, albeit distasteful, part of this. Therefore Alfred does not seek to make blood feuds illegal but instead to regulate them so as to minimise violence and bloodshed.6 This practical approach to law-making is also sh make in Alfreds preface to his Laws, where he states that a man has no need of law books if he judges fairly and equally 7. However the fact that Alfred is writing this in his Law Code shows that although in an ideal world such a code would not be needed, he accepts that men are only human and many will require guidance as to what is right and wrong.The Law Code of King Alfred the Great is the largest and best preserved piece of legal documentation made prior to the Norman conquest of 1066 1, and the first surviving Anglo-Saxon law code since Ines, nearly two centuries earlier 2, making it an essential document in the study of late Anglo-Saxon law, cultu re and society.justice. 9 This theory is also back up by Alfreds own introduction to his translation of Pope Gregorys Pastoral Care, in which he speaks of his respect for the Anglo-Saxon kings of the Golden Age of the 7th Century who not only maintained their peace, morality and authority at home but also extended their territory outside 10. This suggests that Alfreds intentions in writing his Law Code were born out of a desire to return to a time when, in his eyes, things were better. However Alfreds use of the phrase extended their territory outside 11, should also be noted, as it implies other intentions than those immediately obvious from the accounts of Asser and others, including Alfred himself. Therefore, while Alfred may have been motivated to write his Laws for the good of his people, it is important to remember that the King had other reasons for writing his Code and the laws serve other purposes other than the direct administration of justice.One such unofficial reason f or Alfreds writing of his Law Code, it can be argued, was to assert his royal power and ensure the loyalty of his subjects in a legal document that could not be disputed 12, thereby safeguarding his own send and consolidating his hold over the kingdom. This intentional inclusion of laws designed to ensure loyalty from Alfreds subjects can be seen in the wording of the Law Codes themselves, where treason is portrayed as the most unholy and unforgivable of sins only for treachery to a lord they dared not declare any mercyhe Christ charged everyone to love his lord as himself 13. The extension service to Christ in this quote shows the severity of the crimes of treason and treachery, as even the mercy of Christ is not afforded to those who commit these sins. The theory that Alfreds Laws were intended to secure his own position, is given weight by the profound threat of rebellion that was present for much of Alfreds reign, especially in the case of Aethelwold, rival to the throne and the son of Alfreds predecessor, who lead a rebellion in 89914, which could have been a direct influence upon the emphasis placed on loyalty to the king and lords found in Alfreds Code.The underlying political agenda of Alfreds Laws is also an important aspect of the text. It is argued by Wormald that Alfreds respectful mentions of the laws of Offa and Aethelbert (previous kings of Mercia and Kent respectively) in his preface to his own laws, and his statement that he is influenced by them in his own law making, is an attempt to remind Mercians and Kentishmen of his concern for their traditions15. This pandering to the traditions of the other face kingdoms suggests that Alfred was subtly attempting to enhance his own power over the rest of England outside of Wessex, ultimately jumper cable to him being accepted as Anglo Rex, the title eventually bestowed upon his successors. However as Pratt reminds us, the fact that Alfreds Law Code contains a political agenda need not make it ir relevant as a source of honest legal intentions 16. Pratts theory is supported by the inclusion in Alfreds Law Code the laws of one of his predecessors, Ine, whose laws deal primarily with theft, trading and agricultural matters. 17 In contrast to this Alfreds laws deal mostly with the breaking of oaths, injuries and sexual offences18, and so Alfred can be seen to be modify in the blanks in Ines original laws, therefore honestly trying to better the current legal system.Religious imagery and language features very heavily in Alfreds Law Codes and there are several arguments as to why this is. Wallace-Hadrill argues that the main reason for the sustained religious imagery in the Law Codes is due to the mediaeval perception that kingship was a divine right and Alfreds use of religious imagery is another attempt to assert his authority and show his right to the throne, thus making any sin committed against him a sin against God. 19 Similarly it is argued that the use of religious ima gery by Alfred is due to the lack of an effective way of enforcing the law in Alfreds kingdom and an authority greater than the king or any earthly lord was needed to ensure social order 20. However it can also be argued that the sustained religious imagery in the Law Codes is nothing more than the product of a deeply Christian society, where the natural law of God forms the basis for all perceptions of right and wrong, therefore it is only natural that religion features extensively in a book of law.In conclusion Alfreds law code is a synthesis of the laws of several other Anglo-Saxon kings 21, along with his own work, created with the intention of codifying and clarifying existing laws, exerting royal authority and promoting the King as leader not only of Wessex but of the English people.BibliographyR. Personal Reflection On A Core Business Skills Module Education Essay
Personal Reflection On A Core Business Skills Module Education EssayThe Core Business skills is a mental faculty that explores a number of quality tools that leave help us to look at our core skills in the business field and identify argonas where we could improve.At the rootage of this staff, I employ to leave my bread and butter as normal with few skills that I countenance acquire from my parents, for example the Communication skills and Team working skills, only if change surface it was non enough to communicate or to work with whomever. Communication skills and team working skills are the closest skills team working can non occur if there is no communication. Since our childhood, our parents push us to condense in touch with raft of our ages. At beginning, it is never easy seeing the quarrels that happen with our friends in the youngest ages while playing together, but these skills get developed in growing older. I in like manner had an experience of team working d uring few years when I used to play football in a club, and as we write out this sport is not played individually, but in a team, and I had in condition(p) a lot during this experience.It is sure that we learn a lot from our parents and the activities in our childhood, but studying complements the path our parents put us on to build our futurity in order to get the objective of having a pricey criticality later on.I have also learned during my past years most important skills that our module covers, such as Numeracy skills and Information Skills. However, they were not as important as we studied during this semester. Numeracy skills are taught in increasing trains since the youngest ages, scratch line from the autochthonic school until we get our degree at the university, but before, it was just numbers and relations that I learned and that dont stand for anything real. On what concerns the information skills, I have learned a few about it during the high school and I incr eased my level on it during the foundation year I have through with(p) last year at the university.Other skills that are closer to the communication skills which are the effective skill skills, and they are also close to the personal and flight development skills as rise up. The effective learning skills are the ones I learned trough some experiences, but for what concerns the personal and career development skills I did jazz nothing about them until I discovered them during this module.What this module has changed on my life?Regarding the six transferable skills that I have learned during this module, I notice that I have made a big improvement on these skills that help me now to be more efficient on getting my objectives either on my personal or professional life.Since more than one year ago, I work and I study simultaneously, and things that I learned during this module brought me to a high level that I was not expecting from myself. I will introduce my job in few words an d describe how what I got from the Core Business Skills module changed the port I was doing it. So, I work as Electronic Dance Music producer with many professional record labels worldwide, and this started just by animosity at the beginning until I have been discovered by one of the most famous deejays in South America, and whence I had a device to sign my song on his own record label located in Buenos Aires in Argentina, here was my first professional experience and I was claustrophobic of getting ripped off because I did not know how to deal with the contract and I did not even negotiate it. However, I kept balancing betwixt what I study and my work and I acquired more experiences practicing what I study on my professional life.Edwin H. Friedman said about communication that The colossal misunderstanding of our term is the assumption that insight will work with people who are unmotivated to change. Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric, or vox but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choices words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech. (1)So, the communication skills are precise important on my daily work, now due to what I learned, I started knowing how to negotiate my contracts with the other record labels for each song I devote, and this particular contributes on making more profit and also to advertise my artwork and letting people buy what I make. This course also helped me to learn how to make formal letters to communicate with the record labels and producers worldwide as well as this will serve me later on my professional life as future manager. Now as Im still a student I do use it only on my music affaire and my personal life with my family and friends.Also I would mention that as a student and future mana ger, I highly improved my skills on making presentations in front of the audience.On what concerns the effective learning skills on my personal and professional life, now I can know what I should improve on my life, on my studies or on my musical skills. Before, on my studies, I was kind of lost when the exams were approaching, it usually happened to me to be confused on what to prioritize and what to leave for the last, but now I got this level of knowing prioritizing the most important things after identifying them. Same thing on my life out of studies and on my professional life as well, now I can identify on what I could improve to make better songs in the future, I can manage myself to improve my personal and my student life to get best results, and eventually, now I know what I want to be, what I want to be later on, and how to get my goal.On my professional life, I also use the skills I learned about the team working knowing that my job consists on composing and producing son gs, sign them on record labels then advertising them as much as possible to get profit out of them, even if advertising is the main work of the record labels. Also, it plays a merry role on my personal life. As I said at the beginning, team working is taught by our parents and our society at the first before starting classes, but whatever is the level that we get from these lasts, the school teaches us more about them. We work in teams at home, we play sport in teams and also at the school and the university we work for some projects given for our studies in teams or either preparing for our exams we mostly work in teams. TEAM stands for Together E actuallyone Achieves More. Working in teams is essential on the business life, either working for our own or others companies, these skills consist mainly on sharing tasks and ideas in a project work, and this proficiency is more efficient than working alone.Numeracy skills stand for budgeting, numeracy functions and computations, dates and time, parenting and health related numeracy. These skills on budgeting or money management and banking serve to count money, make change, calculate service charges, save money and invest it too, and these are generally skills that our module covers adding to the numeracy functions and computations skills that we learned in the past from the primary school until the high school. Dates and time skills are used to some basic things in life as using a calendar, fill in time sheets or writing the date as well as the parenting and health related numeracy skills to read directions and dosage on medicines bottles, read thermometers or to understand a report card. All these numeracy skills are important and very useful on whomevers daily life for either managers, farmers or whatever we can be. During this module I leaned the most of the important numeracy skills for business management field, and this regarding the conclusiveness threes to analyze and get the best solution to do not mak e loss on business and take the best decision.The information skills are vital for all the successful professionals. These skills help us to become more efficient. Here are some techniques that help us to develop our information skills. The first one is how to take notes effectively, and this is a good tool to record and organize the information, the second one is to fully absorb the create verbally information to assimilate and understand the written information quickly and effectively. Reading strategies is also a technique to read faster by designateing what to read, while the technique of keeping the information scented in our minds helps to keep what we learned alive in our minds. There is also a technique which is learning in a way that suits us and this will not only help us on developing the ways we can learn, but we will be able to make what we do so the others can learn efficiently from us. Making learning an enjoyable experience is for me the best way to learn efficien tly because if we love what we do we get good results, and this is what is helping me a lot on my music producer career, even all the results that I got from my productions I still dont consider this as a job but just as my main passion and I keep learning day after day. Same thing on my studies, there are some topics that I enjoy and I can be successful on them, but once I dont love one topic, I know that I will have problems within it.The personal and career development skills are the ones I really enjoyed during this module. These skills are mainly keys for everyones life. To know our own strengths that we already have and we might build on, our weaknesses that we could reduce or otherwise work around, our opportunities that are related to our chances and that we can exploit better than the others, or even our togs that we need to be aware of them and to avoid them is a simple analysis that allows us to know who really we are and to avoid stress. I also learned how to manage my time and the basic ideas of control in this module, and all these skills have changed my personal and professional life and help me to gain more confidence on myself and to keep improving on my life in general.What should I develop again on my transferable skills?All the skills that I got from the Core Business Skills module are not skills related only to the business field, but to our life in general and help to improve the way we are living it. flier Clinton, the forty second U.S President (1993-2001) saidToday, many companies are reporting that their number one constraint on growth is the inability to hire workers with the requisite skills. (2)From what Bill Clinton said, companies have a lack of workers with the necessary skills, and they do their best to overcome this problem, but people with the necessary skills are not enough to repay every companys need. To participate on the growth of our society, we should all have some basic skills which when we develop them, we get a higher level of confidence and abilities.Personally, even the improvement that I have done during this module, I still have to improve all the skills to get my personal objective. We know that the sky is the limit for what concerns learning the skills, and we can improve them more and more day after day. My skills on communication are not enough, because if I start communicating with professional people I could not be at the same level as them, but with the practice and time I can develop my skills and reach the level required by the professional world. Also, I still have many problems when it comes to the numeracy skills on business the decision tree for example seems to me easy, I can get the tree, but not the calculation, I usually get lost on applying the relations and calculating numbers. The information skills, and the personal and career development skills, I think we can develop them more within the next modules and experiences.I got a lot of benefits from this module, it ha s changed my life, now I see things in a professional way and this is the best way to reach out the objectives that we set on our life. Now that I learned also these skills I set new goals to my life and I will try to achieve them all, or at least the majority. People with goals mostly succeed because they already know where they are going. I also intend in Willis Reeds quote that saysGo for the moon. If you dont get it, you will still be heading for a star.

Goya :: Essays Papers
Goya His name, Francisco Goya, born in 1746, one of Spains most innovative painters and etchers also one of the triumvirateincluding El Greco and Diego Velzquezof salient Spanish masters. Much in the art of Goya is derived from that of Velzquez, just as much in the art of the 19th-century French master douard Manet and the 20th-century genius Pablo Picasso is taken from Goya. Trained in a mediocre rococo artistic milieu , Goya transformed this often frivolous style and created works, such as the famous The third of May, 1808, that have as great an impact today as when they were created. Goya was born in the small Aragonese town of Fuendetodos (near Zaragoza) on March 30, 1746. His father was a painter and a gilder of altarpieces, and his mother was descended from a family of minor Aragonese nobility. Facts of Goyas childhood are scarce. He attended school in Zaragoza at the Escuelas Pias. Goyas formal artistic education commenced when, at the age of 14, he was bandaged to a local master, Jos Luzan, a competent although little-known painter in whose studio Goya spent four years. In 1763 the young artist went to Madrid, where he hoped to win a prize at the Academy of San Fernando. Although he did not win the desired award, he did make the acquaintance of Francisco Bayeu, an artist also from Aragn, who was working at the royal court in the academic manner imported to Spain by the German painter Anton Raphael Mengs. Bayeu (the brother of Goyas wife) was influential in forming Goyas early style and was responsible for his participation in an important commission, the fresco decoration of the Church of the Virgin in El Pilar in Zaragoza. In 1771 Goya went to Italy for approximately one year. His activity there is relatively obscure he spent some months in Rome and also entered a composition at the Parma Academy competition, in which he was successful. Returning to Spain nearly 1773, Goya participated in several other fresco projects, including that f or the Charterhouse of Aula Dei, near Zaragoza, in 1774, where his paintings prefigure those of his greatest fresco project, executed in the Church of San Antonio de la Florida, Madrid, in 1798. It was at this time that Goya began to do prints after paintings by Velzquez, who would remain, along with Rembrandt, his greatest source of inspiration.

Night by Elie Wiesel Essay -- Night Elie Wiesel Jews Nazi Genocide Es
Night by Elie Wiesel Nobody wants to read such a morbid book as Night. There isnt anybody (other than the Nazis and Neo-Nazis) who enjoys reading most things like the tortures, the starvation, and the beatings that people went through in the concentration camps. Night is a horrible tale of murder and of mans inhumanity towards man. We must, however, read these kinds of books regardless. It is an indefinitely depressing subject, further because of its truthfulness and genuine historic value, it is a story that we must learn, precisely because it is important never to forget. As Robert McAfee Brown states in the say of the memoir the world has had to hear a story it would have preferred non to hear- the story of how a cultured people turned to genocide, and how the rest of the world, in like manner composed of cultured people, remained silent in the face of genocide. Elie Wiesel has paid much attention to an inner desire and need to serve humanity by edifying the hate-darkened past.Night is a horrifying account of a Nazi death camp that turns Elie Wiesel from a preteen Jewish boy into a distressed and grieving witness to the death of his family, the death of his friends, even the death of his own innocence and his faith in G-d. He saw his family, friends and fellow Jews first severely firm and then sadistically murdered. He enters the camp a child and leaves a man. At the books end, Elie bears little resemblance to the teenage boy who left Sighet approximately a year earlier. Night is a memoir exquisitely written. Wiesels eloquence makes his descriptions seem terrifyingly real and repulsive. It is a book about what the Holocaust did, not just to the Jews, but to humanity. People all over the world found themselves affected by this atrocious act. Even today, there are a repress of survivors who are tormented by their experience every day of their lives.The Wiesels have, throughout the novel, several opportunities to escape Sighet as well as the camp i tself, but they are stubborn in their beliefs and refuse to listen to the warnings. Moshe the Beadle, Elies mentor at the beginning of the novel, while Elie is still a deeply religious young man, manages to escape the Gestapo in Poland. He returns to Sighet to deliver his message and to try to warn people of the pending situation. The villagers, however, believe Moshe has lost his mind, find... ...e was Elies body, but it had not moreover lost so many pounds to make him look like a walking skeleton, but he had been robbed of its soul as well. This is similar to the loss suffered by people all over the world. Although several survivors are still alive physically, their mind and spirit have long been dead, or at least a large part of it. Recovering his spirit, his personality, even his faith, is, when he is released, is the most difficult obstacle for Elie to overcome.Night tells the story of innocent victims. It is the story of people who were destroyed simply because they were Jew s. These people had done nothing and yet were tortured, degraded and liquidated for no other reason other than their faith in the Jewish religion and their semitic racial inferiority. Wiesel is a witness to all the horrible things, and by reading his memoir we too, become witnesses. He is a spokesperson for all those who cannot bear to talk and to pass the message on to us, the next generation. We are the ones who are obliged to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive. We must take advantage of his eloquence and its importance, which is never to forget, in order never to let this happen again.

Love in John Donnes A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning and Andrew Marv
Love in John Donnes A Valediction Forbidding melancholy and Andrew Marvells To His coy MistressJohn Donnes A Valediction Forbidding grieve and Andrew Marvells To His Coy Mistress both talk about bed but has different views about it, one talks about material chouse and the early(a) talks about spiritual love. John Donnes A Valediction Forbidding Mourning compared love to a circle while Andrew Marvels To His Coy Mistress compared love to a straight line. Both rimes are act of persuasions. A Valediction Forbidding Mourning is persuading the reader that true love is eternal while To His Coy Mistress the speaker is persuading the mistress to make passionate sex with him. Therefore, with all of these similarities and differences, its commendable to compare the two works of literature. A Valediction Forbidding Mourning has a subtle theme of religion in itself particularly, Christianity in relation to life after death. The main theme of the poem is true love leave behind continue on, even after death. Lines one through two illustrate the notion of afterlife. As virtuous men pass mildly away, And whisper to their souls to go... Essentially, it implies that we bugger off souls, and souls are the immortal part of men (human beings). John Donnes notion that we have souls and theres life after death are presumably based on his Christian beliefs. Donne was born in England and raised by a prosperous Roman Catholic family. At the age of 42, Donne accepted ordination in the Angelican Church. He, then, became and earned a reputation as one of the greatest preachers (Abcarian and Klotz 1121). Donne was 60 years of age when he wrote the poem presumably, he was still a preacher at the time. Therefore, his poem can be suggested as... ...ourning. Although the main central theme of the poems were directly opposite of each other, we can relate that physical love and spiritual love has a connection to each other. Physical love can turn to spiritual love or perhaps spiritual lo ve can turn to physical love. At one point or another, we have experienced both physical and spiritual love. On the surface, we can say that spiritual love is a cut above physical love. However, its hypocritical to say that we do not come into contact with emotions such as desire or lust. Therefore, physical love is at the same level as spiritual love. It is merely difficult to admit that we do experience lust because it is not something to be proud about. companionable convention dictates that we should not feel lust. Moreover, lust is one of the seven sins. However, lust is a valid emotion that every one experience once in a while.

Effects of a widening betray dearth and the necessary political relation insurance policyTrade Gap Widens, Fuels Calls for Tougher Stance on China WSJ, 4/13/05, A2.The U.S. current written report (trade deficit) hit a monthly high rising 4.3% in February to $61.04 billion. The change magnitude deficit reflects the rising costs of imported oil and increased consumer demand for foreign goods. Imports rose by $2.58 billion from January to February as Exports remained constant.The widening trade deficit over the past two years has economists concerned about the longevity of attracting foreign capital. This is especially true between China and the U.S. where the deficit has increased 50% from 2004, making it the largest deficit of any single country. As a result, there is pressure from industry officials to consider stronger trade guidelines to correct for this widening deficit. The U.S. cites the improve yuan-dollar exchange rate for keeping Chinas currency relatively weak and th erefore encouraging the consumption of Chinese goods in world markets. The U.S. government is considering a 27.5% tariff on all Chinese products entering the U.S. if Beijing refuses to raise the value of their currency. This purpose of this tariff would be to offset Chinas currency advantage, but critics argue it may increase the price of Chinese-made goods more than a currency adjustment. To assess the validity the proposed policies for this scenario, we will analyze this issue utilise intermediate economic theory as a framework. The current account is of great concern to U.S. policymakers as a long-run surplus or deficit may have undesirable effects on the national welfare. Large imbalances can also create political pressures for increased trade restrictions, as is the subject area in our study. Therefore, it is important to determine how monetary and fiscal policies will affect the current account with respect to output and the exchange rate. We can illustrate the kinship betw een the exchange rate, output, and the current account in terms of the AA-DD framework. The XX curve shows the combinations of the exchange rate and output where the current account balance would be equal to some desired level (equilibrium). The XX schedule is upward sloping because, ceteris paribus, an increase in output encourages spending on imports and worsens the current account if it is not accompanied by currency depreciation. The point labeled A, is where the graph is in equilibrium and the economy is at full employment (Yf) with a presumptuousness exchange rate, Eo.
